A Classification of a Liquid Rubber, Their Application, and Demand Trend Toshihiro MINE Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd., Ichihara, Chiba, JAPAN Nippon Gomu Kyokaishi,(2007),80(6),221-225 General Review in Japanese Abstract A liquid rubber shows fluidity at room temperature, but it becomes solid rubber by a chemical reaction with a hardening agent. And it shows the dynamic property that is similar to cross-linked rubber. A liquid rubber has some merit in comparison with the general rubber. For example, processing is easy or the energy that is needed is small. Therefore, application development of liquid rubber advances in various fields, and the demand is spreading. In this report, I classified liquid rubbers according to the kind of the main chain, and explained it about characteristic of each liquid rubber, applications and demand trend.
