Housing Materials and Rubber Goods Masanori IGAKI Hayakawa Rubber Corporation, Technical and Development Department, Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan Nippon Gomu Kyokaishi,(2005),78(10),393-397 General Review in Japanese Abstract Rubbers are widely used as housing materials because of their outstanding airtight properties, acoustic properties, water proofing properties and safety features. In the housing field, several demands have been made, for example earthquake resistance, high airtightness and barrier-free systems. Those demands are ever-increasing. On the other hand, there is a problem of indoor noise associated with high airtightness. This report introduces housing rubber materials, focusing on those used as airtight materials, soundproof and vibration-proof materials.
