Abstract
This paper referred to the effects of photo graft modification of rubbers with-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (-MPS) on themechanical properties of silica loaded vulcanizates, and the reinforcement effects of nano size particles of synthetic magnesium hydroxide and ground calcium carbonate prepared with wet pulverization. Graft modification -MPS improved its effects on the mechanical properties of vulcanizates more than integral blend. The reinforcement effects of nano-size particles of magnesium hydroxide were the same as silica, and were improved with a silane coupling agent. Tensile modulus of the rubber/calcium carbonate composites increased with preparing by co-coagulating rubber latex and calcium carbonate aqueous suspension.
