Looking Back Upon the Development of Rubber and Elastomers --At the 20th " Forum on Elastomers " -- Shinzo YAMASHITA Kyoto Institute of Technology (Home Address) Kitashirakawa, Sakyo, Kyoto, Japan Nippon Gomu Kyokaishi,(2009),82(12),507-514 General Review in Japanese Abstract " Forum on Elastomers " originated with the author, and sponsored by the Society of Rubber Industry, Japan, is held once a year since 1987. At last December, we had the 20th Forum. During 20 times Forum in total, there were contributions of 928 papers and 2865 participants. Thus, the Forum is familiar with the place of indefatigable assiduity on study of rubber science and technology, and play an important role in the development of rubber industry. Here, the courses of the Forum and some papers presented at 20 times Forum will be described and the development of rubber science and technology will also be discussed through these papers.
