Application of Bio-plastics to Automotive Parts Kiyoshiba MASE Organic Material Dept, Vehicle Material Engineering Div., Toyota Motor Corporation,Toyota, Aichi, Japan Nippon Gomu Kyokaishi,(2008),81(9),383-387 General Review in Japanese Abstract Recently, global warming has been advanced, and people has been concerned about environmental problems, such as the exhaustion of fossil fuels. On the other hand, continuous expansion of automobile industry is expected because of the growing Asian market. Owing to such a situation, automakers have made effort to replace the plastic materials in cars by bio-plastics. The review introduces some examples of bio-plastic parts of cars that are adopted or to be adopted before long by both domestic and foreign automakers.
