Abstract
Plasma polymerization and plasma treatment are useful methods for modifying the surface characteristics of organic materials. Plasma polymerization forms homogeneous organic thin films on material surfaces, and plasma treatment modifies chemically the surfaces of organic materials. These plasma processings give a hydrophilic or hydrophobic (water-repellent) property to the surfaces of materials.
